Ex works collection of parts from the suppliers of Ford India Ltd. and transferring to the plant located at Maraimalai Nagar, near Chennai. The collections from suppliers, located in Chennai, Hosur, Tirupathi, Pondy, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Daman, New Delhi, Ludhiana and Lucknow are effected as per the electronic schedule released by Ford on a daily basis. The parts collected from suppliers in a region, are consolidated to form a full truckload and moved to Maraimalai Nagar optimizing the transportation costs and facilitating just in time inventory.

Inbound Logistics Services to IFB Automotive Private Limited

Transnet organizes Ex-Works collection of Semi-finished components and Finished components subjected to multiprocessing from 60 vendors located in Bangalore as per the daily collection schedule. The collection quantity estimate is based on the production plan for the ensuing day. Transnet has developed a computer application – Integrated Material Planning and Scheduling System (IMPS) - for generating the daily collection schedule using the data in the customer’s ERP. The entire logistics system was designed by Transnet with a major objective to reduce Work-in-progress inventory.
